Accessibility Statement
We want every customer — including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, magnification, or other assistive technologies — to have a great experience shopping with us.
Our commitment
Fancy Bands is committed to making fancybands.net accessible and user-friendly for all customers. Our goal is to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA where reasonably achievable. We're a small business, and we work on accessibility continuously rather than treating it as a one-time project. When we find an issue, we work to address it; when we add new features, we review them for accessibility where possible.
What we've done
- Set the site language so screen readers can better interpret page content
- Added a "skip to main content" link for keyboard users
- Use text-based navigation and product information where possible
- Continue improving product image alt text and use decorative-image conventions where appropriate
- Review main and dropdown navigation labels and structure for screen reader users
- Review key shopping flows, including product pages and cart, for keyboard accessibility where possible
- Run accessibility checks on important page templates and address issues as they are found
What we're working on
We're actively reviewing and improving the following items:
- Reviewing and adjusting color contrast on UI elements to better meet WCAG contrast guidelines
- Adding and improving accessible labels on product gallery thumbnails, collection sort controls, and other interactive elements
- Reviewing third-party cart, upsell, reviews, chat, loyalty, and returns tools for accessibility concerns
- Improving heading order on FAQ sections and informational pages
Third-party services and known limitations
Some parts of our shopping experience are powered by third-party technology providers, including cart, checkout, reviews, loyalty, returns, and other ecommerce tools. While we do not control every aspect of these third-party services, we expect our vendors to support accessible experiences and we review accessibility concerns when they are brought to our attention. If you experience difficulty using any part of our site, cart, checkout, or any third-party tool, please contact us so we can assist you with your order through an alternative method.
Tell us if you hit a problem
If anything on our site is hard to use or you can't access something you need, please email us at support@fancybands.net and tell us:
- The page or product you were trying to use
- What you were trying to do
- What happened (or didn't happen)
- The assistive technology you're using, if any (screen reader, keyboard only, etc.)
We aim to reply within 2 business days.
If you need help placing an order, finding product information, applying a discount code, or completing a return or exchange, we'll be happy to assist you through an alternative communication method.
How we test
We review accessibility through a combination of automated tools and manual checks, including:
- Accessibility scans using tools such as axe-core as part of our review process
- Manual checks of keyboard navigation and focus indicators on key user flows
- Visual review of color contrast and layout
